Leading a Safe School: Spring Safety Planning - March 1, 2023 (8:30AM-12:30PM CST)

When spring arrives, school principals and their staff members are outside more, they have more children in activities that are harder to manage, and school safety plans and the safety of the facility is usually at the forefront of their minds. This event will help the attendees focus on threats from outsiders and then we will do a virtual ‘walk-through’ of your buildings with some safety experts and help you prepare your buildings for spring activities. Join us as we spend time together thinking about internal and external threats, playground and sidewalk safety, and weather emergencies. We will talk and learn about intruders, but we will also learn about safety techniques we can control on our campuses to help our students spend March, April, and May with fewer accidents. Speakers will include Kimberly Daubenspeck, TDOE, and her team of safety mentors from across Tennessee and Tom Montgomery (NGU) and his team of safety engineers.

Kimberly Daubenspeck Safety and Climate Coordinator
