Appropriate for Principals, Assistant Principals, and District leaders.
While everyone in the state is listening and learning about the ‘retention law’, third grade proficiency scores, retesting and measuring growth this year, TOSS ALI is providing a learning event to highlight what great leaders do every day to meet the Tennessee Best for All goals for ALL students. These leaders are not sharing the ‘what if’ problems, but the work they have been doing to improve reading readiness over the last few months and years.
The event focuses on the positive steps we are making, the plans these teams have in place now, and the struggles we all face to really know if, post-Covid, if we are doing enough to prepare our K-2 students for 3rd grade standards, help them continue growth through 4th grade, and eventually be 8th grade proficient and college and career ready.
We know your time is valuable, but pull together all the lead learners, school leadership teams, and ELA Coaches in your system and join us for this event. It will support your work by building a state-wide cohort of people that you can phone when you have those moments of doubt, and it will help you help your system continue the important work without the ‘distractions’ we sometimes feel each year as we approach the review of assessments with teachers and parents.
You will hear from a panel of ELA/Leadership experts, Mary Britton from Giles County Schools, and Kristie Wilson from Benton County Schools.
TOSS Platinum Partner, Scholastic will also be there to share what their company can do to support this work in Tennessee.
