While everyone in the state is listening and learning about the ‘retention law’ this year, TOSS ALI is providing a learning event to highlight what our leaders are doing NOW. Join us on April 27, 2023, as we feature principals, supervisors, leadership teams, and our platinum partners Imagine Learning. These leaders are not sharing the ‘what if’ problems, but the work they have been doing to improve reading readiness over the last few months and years. This event focuses on the positive steps we are making, the plans these teams have in place now, and the struggles we all face to really know if, post-Covid, are we doing enough to prepare our K-2 students for 3rd grade standards and how can we be sure? We know your time is valuable, but pull together all the ELA supervisors and lead learners in your system and join us for this event. It will support your work by building a state-wide cohort of people that you can phone when you have those moments of doubt, and it will help you help your system continue the important work without the ‘distractions’ we sometimes feel in the spring each year as we approach summative assessments. You will hear from a team from Murfreesboro City Schools, Diane Stovall from Germantown, and Jane Fisher from Lincoln County Schools. Imagine Learning will also be there to share what their company can do to support this work in Tennessee.
