Universally, one of the most anxious firsts for beginning superintendents is building the first budget. Join Superintendent Steve Starnes as he walks you through his process. Steve has budget experience in both Hawkins County and now Greeneville City Schools and is a wealth of knowledge in this area.  You will learn his process for utilizing staff to determine budget priorities and how he works with his board throughout the process, among many other things. Additionally, he will give an overview of how ADM is generated, which drives TISA funding, and the impact WFTEADA plays in dividing local tax dollars in counties with multiple school systems. Given the later dates for the New Superintendent Academy Part 2, this session will be conducted virtually this year. An advantage is that it will be recorded, and you can refer to it anytime.
