School Security and Preparedness: Maintaining the Momentum

2018 was an important year for school safety efforts in Tennessee. Every public school participated in a review of security and preparedness measures, resulting in an unprecedented opportunity to assess current practices and identify opportunities for improvement.  Representatives from the state departments of Education and Safety will highlight the results of the school safety study released in November and share new resources available to improve the safety of Tennessee schools.

Directors are encouraged to bring a team representing district safety staff and local first responders (police, fire, emergency management) to one of the three meetings being offered in East, Middle and West Tennessee.
